Many chemical reactions taking place in our surroundings involve the limiting reactant. Some examples are as follows

 Example 1:

 In a chemical reaction a large quantity of oxygen make things to burn rapidly. As oxygen used in excess is left behind when the action is completed soothe other regent is consumed earlier is known as limiting reactant.



Example 2:

 A person who has catch fire is enveloped with a blanket to stop supply of oxygen. Stopping oxygen makes it a limiting reactant
